Age and Youth

Casals’ attitude to the life

In Age and Youth, Casals said that if you continue to work and to absorb the beauty in the world about you, you find age does not mean getting old. His life is his work. In my opinion, Casals’ attitude to the life is positive. He tried his best to work and to learn from his work. He thought the age was not the problem for him to work and working made his life more fascinating.

Casals’ view of retirement

In Age and Youth, Casals stated that work helped prevent one from getting old and to retire mean to him to begin to die. Work and interest in worthwhile things are the best remedy for age. Therefore, his view of retirement is he never wants to retire.

The effect of sea on Casals

In the last sentence of this article, Casals said that the sea is never the same, never , not from one moment to the next, always in the process of change, always becoming something different and new. I think that Casals find the similar parts between the sea and the life he wanted. That is every day is different, new and full of change. The sea reminds him that he must keep his life new, fantastic and unbelievable.
